Exploring Israeli Theatre Today with Dr. Roy Horovitz

Did you know that Israel has the highest rate of theater-goers per capita? Please join us as our Israel Institute Visiting Scholar, Roy Horovitz, explores the intense contemporary Israeli theater scene, using English readings and clips.
An actor, director, and dramaturge, Dr. Horovitz has directed on the stages of both the Cameri Theater of Tel Aviv and the Habima National Theater, two of Israel’s leading theaters, among others. He has directed a succession of critically acclaimed productions, including Not About Nightingales (Tennessee Williams) and Rabbit Hole (David Lindsay-Abaire); he received a Best Director award for directing Pollard's Trial at The Cameri Theatre. His film credits include The Body with Antonio Banderas. Dr. Horovitz is a senior lecturer at Bar-Ilan University, where he earned his Ph.D.
