Announcement by the Center for Israel Studies
Living in DC, American University students have a great advantage in finding some of the best internship opportunities offered in the United States. The diverse city presents an array of openings in political affairs, social justice, humanitarian, corporate and international organizations active in the region.
The American University Center for Israel Studies has compiled an Internship Guide to help students searching for Israel-related opportunities in the DC area. Among the dozens of possibilities are organizations as diverse as the Atlantic Council, the Heritage Foundation, AIPAC, the New Israel Fund and the Israeli Embassy. Also a great opportunity for networking, these internships connect students with passionate individuals from all around the world.
“The vast majority of AU students hold internships in DC during their AU college experience. This is not only a great way to learn various organizational structures and cultures and let you see what working in an organization is like,” says Laura Cutler, managing director of the Center, “These experiences are also resume-building and can lead to connections and job opportunities after college.”
An invitation to join the network of professionals actively engaging in Israeli politics, business and social discourse, we hope this guide helps students find an internship that will best grow their character and serve their ambitions. We wish you the best of luck with your internship search!
